Salvage of M.V. Jay

When vessel M.V. Jay-II ran aground and sank on the treacherous reefs off Cabo in Goa with a full load of 1600 tons of iron ore, we were called in immediately by the owners to salvage the vessel.

The salvage operations had to be carried out in extremely treacherous conditions, in view of the rocky reefs surrounding the vessel and breaking waves and strong currents, due to the vessel lying at the confluence of the Zuari and Mandovi Rivers.

Inspite of the hazardous conditions, we succeeded in recovering the cargo and refloating the entire vessel in one piece and delivering the same to the owners within a period of 35 days.
